Barbero Tops a Field of 307 Players to Win $279,330 in Uruguay
The PokerStars Latin American Poker Tour just finished up its most recent tour stop in Punta del Esta, Uruguay and the champion of the $3,500 no-limit hold’em main event was Team PokerStars pro Jose Barbero . He came back from the shortest stack at the start of the final table to win and he was awarded the top prize of $279,330 from a total prize pool of $1,042,060 for defeating 306 opponents.

The 2010 WSOP will offer 57 events including six $1,000 Hold’em events and a $50,000 Player’s Championship, according to a schedule released by Harrah’s today.
The 41st edition of the prestigious series will run May 27-July 17, 2010, at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.
The number of events remains unchanged from last year with buy-ins ranging from $1,000 all the way up to $50,000 for the Player’s Championship.
“Whatever your game and whatever your bankroll, the 2010 WSOP schedule offers something for everyone,” said WSOP tournament director Jack Effel. “We are planning for the largest WSOP ever and look forward to welcoming all players to the Rio in Las Vegas this summer.”
The 2010 WSOP will culminate with the $10,000 No-Limit Hold’em World Championship, which begins July 5 and will reach a final table on July 17. For the third consecutive year, the final nine players will take a four month long break before reconvening as the November Nine on Nov. 6-9 to play out the final table.

1,125 players anteed up $300 to enter the 2009 Foxwoods Poker Classic No-Limit Hold’em Shoot-out. Single table shoot-outs were held at 10 am and 1 pm and the top three players on each table advanced to the 4 pm Finals. A total of 363 winners returned at 4 pm to pursue the prize pool of $283,725! By curfew there were 18 players remaining; they resumed play at 2:00 pm on Tuesday and by 2:45 pm the Final Table was underway. After just under three hours of play, the final four reached an agreement which left Dan Suied of Billerica, MA, claiming the Championship Trophy and $55,000 in winnings. The commemorative leather jacket went to 3rd place finisher Stephen Lateano.
Dennis Terrell Jr of Farmingdale, ME was the first to leave the final table after betting 20k when the
flop came out Qs6c9d. He was raised all-in by chip leader Dan Suied. Dennis called with his last 58K, turning over 10h6h to Dan’s Ah3c. The AdAc hit the turn and river leaving Dennis in 10th with a $2,723 payday. Bryan Barrile watched the flop and turn show 6c10d6s4c and Dan bet 60k. Bryan raised all-in with his last 109k and was quickly called by Dan. The river (2c) left Bryan in 9th heading back to Amherst, MA with $4,628. With the blinds at 5k/10k, Bruce Kater of North Andover, MA would move all-in with 115k. Thomas Cady called with AsQc to Bruce’s Ad6d. The board came-up 2dJh3d5sJs and relegated Bruce to 8th place earning him $7,406 for his efforts.

Hall Takes Home $753,330 First-Place Prize and Eric Baldwin Takes the POY Lead Thanks to a Fourth-Place Finish
The final table of the 2009 Ultimate Bet Aruba Poker Classic saw seven players return at noon this afternoon to crown a champion. The eventual winner of the tournament out of the field of 475 players was Brandon Hall, who overcame the perennial chip leader for the event (Robert Mizrachi) in the heads-up final.

Kevin Schaffel, a member of the WSOP main event’s November Nine, entered Wednesday night as the chip leader, but lost to Prahlad Friedman. He did very well last night, finishing second in the World Poker Tour’s Legends of Poker main event in Los Angeles. He took home about $450,000. Prahlad won with A-Q vs. Kevin’s K-J and a board of 10-3-2-4-9

Chris Moneymaker With Third-Place Finish
The event was held at the Gold Strike Casino in Tunica and had a buy-in of $5,000. by day two of the event Moneymaker held a strong chip lead. It looked as Chris Moneymaker was a huge favorite to win the 2009 World Poker Open in Tunica, Mississippi on Tuesday to take down his first major title since winning the 2003 World Series of Poker main event.
Gaubert earned just over $190K for first place as well as a $10,000 seat to the WPT Southern Poker Championship in Biloxi, Mississippi.

Large Turnout Expected for Main Event and Charity Tournament
This weekend, Full Tilt Poker players will compete in the final tournaments of the Full Tilt Poker Online Poker Series with at least $5.7 million of $16 million in prize money still to be won. FTOPS XIII runs August 5th to 16th, offering 25 individual tournaments.
